Tags / multiple channels for a task
Skyler Reeves
Every day I use Sunsama, I wish this feature existed. And about every 3–6 months I come back to this post and lament.

Needing multiple tags on a task is becoming more and more pressing for me. Surely this can't be hard to implement??

Jayson Green - I doubt it's the adding of multiple tags that's hard to implement so much as it would be the various levels of filter logic they'd end up needing to support downstream.
But I too yearn for multiple tags per task.

Please, we still need this

There's not a week that goes by that I don’t wish for the ability to add multiple tags to a task and the ability to filter based on multiple tag criteria.
USE CASE
I have a context called
#function
with channels for things like #prod
, #marketing
, #sales
, #recruiting
, etc.I also have a separate context for one specific function called
#service
with channels for each client I service.Currently, every task gets tagged as a channel from the
#function
context or the #service
context.I'd love to be able to add a second context/channel to a task to denote things like
#maker
or #manager
similar to what Paul Graham talks about in his essay, "Maker's Schedule, Manager's Schedule".Then, ideally, be able to filter tasks using conjunction logic. e.g., *show all tasks tagged
#recruiting
and #make
.---
Honestly, if we could add multiple channels to tasks and filters supported
at least
multi-term conjunctive boolean filters
, that would open up a ton of possibilities. Though, multi-term conjunctive, disjunctive, and negation boolean filters would be better.Photo Viewer

As there is more demand to see how time is spent across multiple codes for a job while assessing my own productivity, it is important to have multiple codes. So for example, I would like to know this task is coded to [Project Code] and communications or [Project Code] and intense data analysis.

I’m new to Sunsama and still in my trial period. First, I’d like to say how much I appreciate Alex’s calm and clear videos!
My need for tags: I come from many years using GTD terminology and changing the definition of “context” is still a challenge for me. I’d like to be able to pull up all the email writing tasks or errands that I need to do across projects and channels. Tagging with smart folders could do this and, from what I’ve seen in my first week, Sunsama would pull it off elegantly. Thanks.

Need this so much. I want to keep track of the area, client and state a task falls in. Been trying other tools like Notion, but none of them come with the awesome time tracking Sunsama has

I really really need this, as i have a hashtag for IMPORTANT, and then a hastag per category that are all separate, but can individually fall into needing attention right away.
