in the documentation it says that
If you make significant edits to a task (changing its title, notes, subtasks, etc) Sunsama will preserve that task.
I believe the issue here is that Sunsama considers checking off a subtask or logging time as actions that make the task unique and cause it to rollover. imo this seems like the exact situation where the task does not need to be rolled and should be an exception. whereas partially complete subtasks with notes, new subtasks or a title change could have merit to conflict.
at the very least this should be a toggle (as others have said) in the series settings or a flag in daily shutdown / planning, e.g. You have unfinished recurring tasks. Rollover Y/N.

I have a daily task and I don't always get to all sub tasks. I want the next day to just show me the full task that is assigned to that day, not that task plus the rollover of what I didn't get to the day before. It's the same task so it's redundant to have it roll over and just creates clutter.

I agree I have a week day task that rolls over to week ends so defeats the point of setting it as a week day only event.

I think this is in the system elsewhere but I very much support it. I have a task to work out for 20 minutes in the middle of the day when I take my lunch break, but if I miss it I don't want it to move to the next day, where I already have a similar task.
