Improved Analytics and Data Insights

I second this! I love Sunsama to schedule stuff... but it's also important to audit, after the fact. To think about WHAT you've spent your time on. I've been using your analytics and weekly report too, and they are helpful.
But I don't do this audit weekly. I do it monthly or quarterly. So it's frustrating... I have to look through many weeks and manually add the data. Bleah!
Any chance you plan to do MONTHLY analytics too? Or to let me choose the timeframe?
Thank you for doing an awesome job, and considering this 🙏

This is a must! For such a well thought out and detailed application, I am surprised that this feature is so lacking.
I am coming from Timeular where their reporting and analytics is just top notch (see image). Would be nice to have something like that here.
Specifically being able to see stats more on channel basis, context basis, task basis and across custom time frames, with saved presets.

Please! Even if I could just get the ability to get minutes spent daily instead of the weekly totals. Right now I'm having to hover over each of the bars to get those numbers from analytics!

Be able to do all the wonderful time analytics that others have mentioned before me.

As as a first step towards improved analytics, a more comprehensive CSV download would be huge for me personally.
The current weekly download is ok, but I really want to look at my last month or quarter since my week to week varies so much. It's a bit of a pain to have to download one week at a time.
My ideal state would be a CSV download over a time-period of my choosing, that gives me the channel, context, the task name, task description (if any), the amount of time spent, and the date completed.

Ty Clauss: Ty provides a good description of what would be helpful for us. The time planning and tracking functions of Sunsama are great for planning and evaluating the way you spend your day. But we also need to track time for client billing purposes across our team. Everybody hates doing this and by far the best way to do it is by making your daily to do list then updating it for what actually happened and filling in the time spent at the end of the day. A perfect fit with Sunsama’s process.
Our data on actual time spent needs to get into an outside team time reporting and invoicing system. So the ability to report on completed work for the time period of our choosing (basically the period since you last exported/uploaded your time) and download as csv each completed task for the selected time period including task description, date, actual time, channel, objective would be huge for us.
If we could have our dream solution, it would be amazing if you could have an integration (perhaps something widely applicable like google sheets?) that would automatically sync all the above info for each task out of Sunsama to a running report every time a task was checked as complete. Then we could use another tool (in our case Claris connect) to sync automatically from google sheets into our time and invoicing solution.
But just a better csv export would be a big help. Thanks!

This is exactly what I need! "My ideal state would be a CSV download over a time-period of my choosing, that gives me the channel, context, the task name, task description (if any), the amount of time spent, and the date completed." And include any links added to the description or notes. Would also need the subtasks to download as there own line items.

I could really do with being able to see time spent by objective, rather than channel. I use channels to sort the type of work I'm doing, which is great for saying oh i worked on tasks for X department for Y hours this week, but if they want a breakdown by campaign (i'm a marketer) those are done by objective, so currently i have to sit and add them up from each week (as often those campaigns take several months to prep and run)

When looking at the work hours done in a day, I'd love to be able to switch off one of the contexts. Then I could show the total work hours that day or week spent outside a certain context (ie if I have 4 contexts set up, I can see the individual hours spent on each context, but I can't just switch one of them off to see the total hours without that).

Yes, please. I would really appreciate being able to manipulate the data for my own use. Making all the data downloadable (not just weekly totals by category) would be great; users could then create their own reporting formats from the .csv file downloaded.
Adding objectives to the analytics would also be super helpful as well.
