Configure whether Todoist Due Dates are mapped to Sunsama Start Date or Due Date

As a Sunsama and Todoist user,
I would like the Todoist and Sunsama due date fields to be kept in sync
So that tasks are shown with the same deadlines, regardless of whether I'm viewing it in Sunsama or Todoist

I find Sunsama's sync behaviour of syncing the Sunsama's start date to Todoist's due date confusing.
I set the due date to indicate when a task must be done by (hard deadlines), not when I intend to work on (because I use a prioritised backlog for that).
Sunsama's current behaviour means my deadlines are being overwritten and lost when I import tasks. As a workaround, I'm having to type the actual deadline into the task title.
This is particularly confusing, as Sunsama has a due date field, so mapping Todoist due date to Sunsama start date is even more counter-intuitive.
I recognise that many people probably use Todoist due dates as if the were start dates to workaround Todoist' lack of start date.
So I'd like the ability to choose which Sunsama field is synced with the Todoist Due Date (and in the mean time, we can all pray that Todoist implements start dates)

Sunsama differentiates between the date when any task is planned and its due date and yet, when (re)scheduling a task coming from Todoist, its due date is changed too. Conceptually, this is misleading because the date when I plan to work on something is not typically the date when the task is actually due.
This is also an inconsistent behavior, since the due date is only in sync if the Todoist task already had a due date.
For me, Todoist is my backlog and I intended to use Sunsama as my planning tool, but this issues makes it unusable.

So true re "the date when I plan to work on something is not typically the date when the task is actually due" Carlos! I agree. The "Actively working on task" and "Due date of task" are different things entirely. Maybe there needs to be an option in settings called something like "Scheduling changes due date in source task" or something more succinct!

Agreed; this has been one of my major pain points when using Todoist and Sunsama together, particularly given Sunsama's behaviour of
overwriting
due dates that are set in Todoist with the start date set in Sunsama, which has caused me to lose or have to re-enter critical information about task deadlines. I would suggest that the default behaviour should be to sync due dates across both platforms (i.e., due date in Sunsama to due date in Todoist, regardless of the start date set in Sunsama), but ideally this would be configurable for different workflows.

Same for me, I'm all in on sunsama once it's possible to customise if, and to where, the todoist due date is mapped to.

I had to stop using Sunsama a year ago because this was a major issue. I'm sad that this default feature hasn't changed yet.
